I don’t know you guys, but this is one thing I struggle with forever. I swear I couldn’t do a French braid to save my life. I remember sitting in front of the minor for hours as a kid trying to teach myself how to french braid, but I usually gave up and just had my mom or sisters braid my hair for me. Now days, I can finally say I know how to French braid my hair myself, it’s a great feeling to have. And it’s time for you to get that same great feel, with school starting up again, means dances are coming up soon. One of my favorite hairstyle for homecoming is the side pony tail (curled or in a bun) with front hair piece French braided back. I think this is a really fun, yet classic hair style for homecoming. I find this fanatic video online, explaining step-by-step how to achieve that perfect French braid yourself. She’s a great teacher.

What Every Parents Should Know About Prom...
I found this really great article online other day and i think ever parent should take a few minutes read these guidelines. As we all know, prom and graduation are massive milestones in any students life, it is also great times to celebrated with friends and family. Although, sometimes celebrations come with expectation. Study's show that many students who would normally not drink or engage in sexual behavior are tempted and under more pressure than any other time of the year. As a parent you should set appropriate expectations and continue to enforce household rules about drinking and curfews. If parents do their job, the only horror should be when your children look back years from now and say, “Oh my, what was I wearing?”Here are some of my favorite recommendations for parents i found on mom-style news.Do not extend curfews — "Teen car crashes and deaths increase exponentially late at night. If you extend curfews, do not give large blocks of unaccounted for time. Know where your children are, how long they will be there, when will they be leaving, who is there, and who is supervising the event."
Do not rent a hotel room — "Is anyone really surprised when a tragedy happens after a parent rents a hotel room unsupervised? The parent must be there, not out to dinner with friends or on another floor asleep."
Be up when they come home — "My mother once told me that her prevention plan was coffee and lights — be wide awake with the lights on sitting at the kitchen table, coffee in hand, when they come in the front door. A teen’s curfew should never exceed the parents’ ability to stay up."
Initiate a dialogue about your expectations —"Although you may feel you’ve communicated your desires and consequence for unwanted behaviors many times, the prom and graduation season is a great time to remind your children. Teens who normally would pass on drinking, drug use, or sexual behavior are tempted in ways they are usually not during the rest of the year. Talk to them about drinking and driving, getting in the car with drunk drivers, and what they can do if something goes unexpectedly wrong. Consider role-playing a few scenarios. Research points to parents who discuss possible scenarios in great detail and seek their teens’ knowledge about what to do increase the chances of their teen actually doing what they suggest."

Red lipstick... For Prom?

Red lips are classic lips. Wearing red lipstick for prom is a way for you to make a bold statement without trying to hard. Red lips can go either way; you can either ware them with a lot of make up, but usually when you wear red lipstick you barely need to apply any other make-up. To achieve the perfect red lips, first line your lips with a neutral shade. This way you can perfect the shape of your mouth while still looking natural. Make sure you choose the right red for your lips. If your skin is fair, pick a bright fire engine red; if you have a dark complexion, pick a warm brownish red. Remember to blot your lips, by blotting your lips; you will get rid of the excess lipstick. Then you can reapply your lipstick, for a long lasting wear.

Tip: If you use a brush to fill in your lips, it will help your color stay on better.

How to answer that special somebody back to any school dance wtih jelly beans
These days, asking that special somebody to homecoming, prom, or just any school dance, has brought up a lot of new and creative ways to answer “yes” or “no” back. When I was a junior, I asked this kid name Matt t
o go to Sadies with me. A couple days later when I arrived to school one morning, I had this jar full of candy sitting in my locker, with a cute ribbon wrapped around the top, and a note taped on the side of the jar.
The note read “Jeni… your probably wondering why you have this huge jar of candy sitting in your locker. I know these jelly beans might look tasty, but there's just one problem. First, you must count all the jelly beans before you start eating them. Doing so will help you determine my answer for Sadie’s. If there is an EVEN amount of jelly beans in the jar, I would love to go Sadie’s with you… If there’s an ODD amount of jelly beans in the jar, sorry I can’t go I’ve already been asked, maybe next time…. Sincerely Matt”
I could hardly wait until school was out, so I could go home and start counting. I swear i ended up counting the jelly beans a few times, just in case I missed counted. In ended up with 838 jelly beans, I was so excited he said

Easy Step-by-Step Prom Hairdos... "French Twist"
French Twist
1. Tease a 3-inch-by-3-inch section of dry hair on the crown of your head to form a baseball-sized puff.
2. Gently smooth hair in front of the teased section back over the puff, leaving your bangs (or a 1-inch section of hair) loose.
3. Gather all your hair at the nape of your neck, then twist it upward and anchor the twist against your head with hairpins as you go. Right before you get to the top of your head, fold over loose ends and hide behind the twist; secure with more hairpins.
4. Use a fine-tooth comb to smooth flyaways without combing away volume, and sweep bangs (or your 1-inch section) to the side.
5. Mist your ‘do with hairspray.

Great ways to ask her to Prom.... Window Markers!!!
Sometime before the end of the school day, go out to her car with a window marker and spell out “will you go to prom with me?” Make sure you sign it in a way that she knows it’s from you. When she goes outside and see's her car, she will be totally surprised. Now guys, just make sure you don't black out the whole window, she needs to be able to see while she drives.

How to match your hairstyle to your prom dress...
Trying to match your hairdo to the perfect prom dress may seem very overwhelming to many, but in all reality it’s pretty easy. Hairstyles fall into two main categories, in which hair can be worn up or worn down. And yes girls, a half do is considered an “updo”.
Wear your hair up if…

Wear your hair down if…

You will be surprised just how much your hairstyle can do to change the way you look. Keep in mind that you can dazzle up any plain dress with the right hair accessories, flowers, hair clips, diamonds, headbands, etc…
Wear your hair up if…
- Your dress is long and not form fitting.
- The top of your dress has a lot of detail (beading, print, lace).
- Your dress is a halter or has a low back
- Your hair color matches your dress.
- YOU WANT TO! Hey lets be honest, an updo can go with any dress.
Wear your hair down if…
- Your dress has a plunging neckline.
- You have a sleeveless dress.
- The straps on your dress are thin.

You will be surprised just how much your hairstyle can do to change the way you look. Keep in mind that you can dazzle up any plain dress with the right hair accessories, flowers, hair clips, diamonds, headbands, etc…
